In the mid-2000’s there was a surge of interest in revitalizing downtown Knoxville. With the emergence of new residential space developing it would only seem natural to have a wine and spirits store to accommodate the flux of new residents. David Ewan, a man of vision and great business acumen stepped above the mold and developed the concept for Downtown Wine and Spirits. After visiting many liquor stores locally, nationally, and internationally, he sought a space that would offer a unique shopping experience, with a focus on boutique products in an aesthetic environment, centrally located in downtown Knoxville. Thus, on April 28, 2007 Downtown Wine + Spirits opened its doors.
